Tyson Fury sends public message to Deontay Wilder about rematch negotiations as WBC issue update

MAKE IT HAPPEN

The ‘Gypsy King’ insists he will fight anyone, anytime, anywhere…

Tyson Fury has publicly called on Deontay Wilder to make their rematch happen.

Britain’s ‘lineal’ heavyweight champion recently signed a new co-promotional deal to fight on US broadcaster ESPN which has complicated negotiations – owing to the fact that Deontay Wilder is on rival network Showtime.

However, Fury does not believe this is a good enough reason for their second fight not to happen and posted on social media: “I will fight anyone in world boxing.

“Don’t use boxing politics as an excuse not to challenge me – the lineal heavyweight champ.”

Deontay Wilder was the first name tagged into the message, alongside ESPN and promoters Frank Warren and Bob Arum.

The WBC ordered the rematch in January, and have now offered the following latest update having delayed the negotiations deadline twice already.

“The WBC has been in communication with both sides and continues the process with regards to the Wilder vs Fury rematch.

“There will be no further comments until the WBC receives communication from both sides by Tuesday February 26th.”
